Earlier this week, the Minnesota Vikings made a number of different roster moves prior to their Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears.

One of those moves included releasing WR Dan Chisena from the practice squad, who had been in Minnesota since the 2020 season. Following the release, the former Vikings WR has latched onto the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.

The signing was reported by KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, who tweeted, “Cardinals sign Dan Chisena to practice squad.”

Chisena, 26, joined the Vikings via undrafted free agency in April of 2020. The Penn State product played in all 12 of the Nittany Lions games as a senior in 2019 and caught three passes for 66 yards. With the Vikings, Chisena was known for his capabilities on the special teams unit.

During his three-plus seasons in Minnesota, Chisena played 27 games and recorded 11 tackles. The WR signed with Pittsburgh this January, but he was released at the conclusion of training camp and preseason.

The Vikings then brought him back to their practice squad in October, but he never appeared in a game during his six-week stint back in Minnesota.

Chisena now heads to an Arizona Cardinals team that sits at 2-9 and has largely had their playoff hopes dashed because of their poor start. However, they brought back Kyler Murray at QB a couple weeks ago, and they could be a team that plays spoiler in the NFC towards the end of the season.

Since Murray’s return to the field, Arizona has earned a win over the Atlanta Falcons and played the red-hot Houston Texans down to the wire before falling 23-18.

Arizona currently houses six wide receivers on their 53-man roster. This list includes Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore, Michael Wilson, Zach Pascal, Greg Dortch, and Andre Baccellia. The Vikings will not play the Cardinals this season.
