The Minnesota Vikings entered Day 2 with the No. 87 overall pick in the draft, but they have decided to trade down from that spot with the San Francisco 49ers, as announced by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The Vikings sent San Francisco the 87th pick, which they promptly used to select safety Ji’Ayir Brown out of Penn State. In return the Vikings received Nos. 102, 164, and 222. This means that the Vikings have the final pick in the third round tonight, and fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the team make a selection.

We’ve waited just about 24 hours for the Vikings to make a selection since they drafted WR Jordan Addison 23rd overall on Thursday evening. There are a number of talented prospects remaining on the board, so it will be interesting to see how things land when Minnesota makes their selection at No. 102.

This is the first trade made by Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in this draft after a 2022 Draft where he wheeled-and-dealed regularly. Minnesota now has six selections remaining in this draft, and five of them will come tomorrow.
