The Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals will meet at TCO Performance Center for a pair of joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday prior to their preseason game on Saturday in U.S. Bank Stadium.

However, for Wednesday’s practice the Vikings have changed the start time, moving it up due to the heat wave that is engulfing much of the country this week. Practice is now slated to begin at 11 AM rather than 12 PM.

The Vikings stated the change via Twitter, with their social media account saying. “Due to the anticipated heat, the Vikings Training Camp joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, August 23, will now begin at 11 a.m.”

Forecasts suggest Wednesday’s high temperature will approach 100 degrees Fahrenheit and heat index values could be up to 110 by the afternoon hours.

For now, Thursday’s practice remains scheduled to begin at 12 PM Central, but fans planning to attend should be prepared for more very warm weather with heat index values again pushing 95.

As for the actual practices, this week marks the final stretch of preseason play, and thus, one last chance for players to earn spots on 53-man rosters.

The Vikings have a number of players who could be considered on the roster bubble. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are still trying to figure out who will be their Week 1 starting QB with Kyler Murray shelved due to his ACL tear going back to last season. Regardless of when the practices take place, it should be an interesting week for each team with the August 29th cutdown date approaching.
