Vikings Podcast: Draft Talk & Predictions w/ Josh Frey

By this point, some are looking forward to the NFL Draft simply because they’re looking for all the speculation (and tomfoolery) to end. Very soon, valued reader, very soon.

Until then, we press on into the dark night of the soul the speculation that runs rampant across NFL podcasts and sites. On the most recent episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – Sizzlin’ Sam and I are joined by Josh Frey to help us declutter all that’s going on.

Take a peak at what my co-host had to say about the episode: “Sam and Kyle talk NFL draft for one last episode leading up to the draft, bringing in their annual draft specialist guy Josh Frey. The guys start off discussing the latest wild rumors of trading way up to take a QB, then discuss over/under possibilities for the Vikings draft. They wrap up with a couple mock draft before Josh gives his annual hot take of the draft.”

Indeed, we kick things off with a trade theory Sizzlin’ Sam came across: Minnesota will jump up to 3rd overall. Josh relays why it’s more plausible now but I’m the wet blanket who thinks it’s not happening.

We transition to an over/under game. The point isn’t to get Josh gambling but, rather, to get a bit of a feel for how he envisions the draft going for the Vikings. We hear his thoughts on positions that are targeted, whether MN trades a ton, and the overall amount of purple selections.

The final major section of the podcast episode involves a pair of mocks using the PFF simulator. I hop in for one and then get Josh’s take on how I did. He then takes the reins to show me how it’s done, pulling off a great trade before picking an excellent player for the Vikings.

Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.

Listeners can give Josh on a follow on Twitter @Freyed_Chicken. And, of course, keep swinging by PurplePTSD so you can catch his written work.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
