The Kansas City Chiefs are (once again) the Super Bowl champions. Jalen Hurts had a marvellous game, but it wasn’t enough to propel his Eagles past the Patrick Mahomes/Andy Reid gruesome twosome. On Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – Sam and I spend a few moments discussing the title game while bringing things around to the purple & gold.
Take a peak at what Sam has to say: “Kyle and Sam break down the Superbowl discussing what stood out to them, and worked to figure out how to make it about the Vikings. They also discussed the Flores hiring and Jefferson winning OPOY.”
We spend a few minutes discussing the controversial holding penalty at the end of the game. Sam (as per usual) is much more levelheaded than yours truly, but we agree that it was a pretty frustrating call. Hard to believe it gets a flag in that moment.
Jerick McKinnon did a remarkably smart thing toward the end of the game. Rather than secure a touchdown for himself, he went down so the team could drain the clock. Forget the flag for a minute and just consider how brilliant that was given all that was going on. Really great stuff from the former Vikings RB.
After several weeks of promising the return of hockey talk, Sam manages to shoehorn some in there with a brief discussion of Scott Wheeler’s recent assessment of the Wild’s prospects. Bill Guerin has done a nice job of building up the young talent.
Toward the end, there’s even a plug for the top 25 FAs for the Vikings to consider. It’s a piece that’s been in the works for a little while and is now live right here on PurplePTSD.
