Vikings Podcast (w/ Video): The Dynamic Dobbs – #15 in Your Program, #1 in Your Heart

A noon game between a pair of 4-4 teams has captured the imagination of the NFL as a whole. That’s what happens when a backup QB — who is actually the QB4 in Minnesota — pulls off an insane comeback victory a mere five days after getting to the team.

The last episode of Notes from the North — a Vikings podcast — offers a robust-yet-concise discussion of what took place in the Vikings’ victory over the Falcons. Josh Dobbs is a main focus on the podcast since he was so remarkable. Listeners will also hear about plenty of other topics, with quite a bit of the conversation being devoted to Minnesota’s defensive effort.

Vikings Podcast: 11.06.2023

First off, the (somewhat) exciting news. Notes from the North has made the jump to YouTube, complete with video for those of you who think a podcast with video is a more enjoyable experience.

Take a look, if you feel so inclined:

Consider, as well, what Sizzlin’ Sam had to say about the episode: “An incredible game with an incredible number of storylines. From Dobbs, the coaching staff, the defense, and the unsung heroes, this game against Atlanta had it all. Kyle and Sam do their best to breakdown all that happened yesterday in an exciting win.”

Josh Dobbs, of course, is the story. Pretty wild that someone who hasn’t even had enough time to learn everyone’s name is going onto the field and leading a last-minute comeback. Just sensational stuff that we’re very pleased to have witnessed. Pure magic.

For the most part, Brian Flores had his defense play at an excellent level. There’s a bit of a disagreement, though, between myself and Sizzlin’ Sam.

At some points in the game, the Atlanta offense found a way of creating mismatches by playing some bully ball, so I sound a mini alarm. Smart offenses are going to find a way of recreating what Atlanta did, so the task falls to Mr. Flores to ensure his side of the ball is ready to respond.

Other topics that came up include the brilliant effort from Kevin O’Connell, Greg Joseph having a perfect day, and the overall chaos of the game itself. Give the episode a listen.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
