At long last, there is some firm Vikings news. Accordingly, Sizzlin’ Sam and I adjust our conversation. The latest episode of Notes from the North — a humble Vikings podcast — takes on the various bits of news that have emerged over the past week.

Training camp got going roughly a week ago. Since then, a lot of news has emerged.
We spend a long time discussing the Danielle Hunter situation. Given that we were recording on Friday, some of what we said became outdated. The Vikings and the edge rusher agreed to a new deal that keeps him in town for 2023. I wondered aloud about a 1-year, adjusted deal to keep him in Minnesota for the present since it’s the most sensible option. In the end, that’s exactly what happened. Nice work from Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Of course, the Vikings aren’t beholden to just the Hunter rumblings and resolution. There has been a lot else that’s worth discussing. One thing we’ve learned a bit more about is Kirk Cousins. His Netflix series has been fun to watch and his recent press conference involved learning more about his potential future in Minnesota.
Apparently, Harrison Smith loves melted cheese, so much so that he’ll toss some on a plate and then just melt it in a microwave. A bit odd, to be sure, but no major reason to be concerned. The Hitman enjoys cheese.
There is also some discussion of Brian O’Neill’s health, the corner competition, Aaron Rodgers’ wild decision, and plenty of other topics. Jordan Addison also gets worked into the conversation.
