Vikings Part Ways with Longtime Pro Scout

As we’ve discussed before, there are things in life that are far more important than football. The health of Damar Hamlin – a 24-year-old safety for the Buffalo Bills – is one of those things.

By now, you’ve likely heard the news that he collapsed in last night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the early hours of the morning, the Bills sent this update:

Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.

The Vikings’ social media sent their prayers and support:

Several other Vikings including (but not limited to) Patrick Jones, Camryn Bynum, Brian Asamoah, Adam Thielen, and KJ Osborn have all articulated their support.

Earlier in the morning, ProFootballTalk reported that Hamlin’s Go Fund Me – one used “to support his foundation’s community toy drive” – has cleared $3.4 million.
