A Vikings Lineman Popped Up on Thursday’s Injury Report
The Minnesota Vikings are finally getting healthier this season as they come off their bye week.
Excluding notable players on IR such as Kirk Cousins and Jordan Hicks, every Viking on the 53-man roster was able to practice on Thursday. However, an injury did pop for Vikings lineman Ed Ingram, who was listed as limited during the session.
A Vikings Lineman Popped Up on Thursday’s Injury Report
Here is a look at the full Vikings injury report from Thursday:
- CB Akayleb Evans (Calf, Full)
- RG Ed Ingram (Hip, Limited)
- S Theo Jackson (Illness, Full)
- WR Justin Jefferson (Hamstring, Full)
- RB Kene Nwangwu (Concussion, Full)
- CB NaJee Thompson (Knee, Full)
- DL Khyiris Tonga (Knee, Full)
Ingram, a 2022 second-round pick by the Vikings, faced a ton of scrutiny for his pass-blocking abilities during his rookie season. However, he has come into form nicely during the 2023 season, and PFF has credited him with a grade of 61.4. This ranks 35th among all guards in the league this season with at least 400 snaps played.
An underrated aspect of Ingram’s play has been his durability. The right guard has yet to miss a game over his first two seasons, starting all 29 games to begin his NFL career. His limited participation on Thursday hopefully is out of precautionary measures.
If Ingram is unable to go on Sunday, it should be noted that the Vikings have a full plethora of options at the position. Chris Reed came off the NFI list a couple weeks ago while Blake Brandel spent much of training camp working at the guard spot.
Luckily, Ingram was the only Viking on the 53-man roster to be limited in practice. This includes NaJee Thompson (knee) and Kene Nwangwu (concussion) who were listed as full participants after being limited on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Theo Jackson was back as well after missing yesterday’s session due to an illness.
The Vikings also should see plenty of their stars back on the field this weekend. Akayleb Evans and Justin Jefferson were full participants for the second consecutive day, meaning they remain on track to return to the field this weekend. T.J. Hockenson was also able to avoid the injury report once again after dealing with a rib injury prior to the bye.
The Vikings will release one more injury report on Friday with initial game designations for Sunday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 3:05 PM Central inside Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, December 10th.
