Vikings Inactives for Week 1 Include OLB Marcus Davenport
The Minnesota Vikings begin their regular season schedule against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today.
Ahead of this Week 1 matchup, Minnesota has released their inactives list. The list of 6 Vikings inactive players includes the following:
- OLB Marcus Davenport
- QB Jaren Hall
- TE Nick Muse
- OLB Andre Carter
- OT David Quessenberry
- DL Jaquelin Roy
Vikings Inactives Include OLB Marcus Davenport
The Minnesota Vikings signed OLB Marcus Davenport this offseason to a one-year contract in the hopes that he would replace Za’Darius Smith. However, after he appeared on Friday’s injury report, it now appears that Vikings fans will have to wait another week to see their new pass-rusher in action.
Davenport’s career has been an up-and-down one, largely because of some troubles with injuries. Hopefully by taking this game off, he will be able to bounce back in time for Week 2 in Philadelphia.
The Vikings also have three rookies on their inactive list for Sunday. Fifth-round pick DL Jaquelin Roy won’t play on Sunday, and neither will UDFA OLB Andre Carter. QB Jaren Hall also finds himself on the inactive list, but he will serve as the emergency third QB behind Kirk Cousins and Nick Mullens.
Finally, TE Nick Muse and OT David Quessenberry will not suit up, either. Muse is listed as the TE4 behind T.J. Hockenson, Josh Oliver, and Johnny Mundt. As for Quessenberry, he was a free agency acquisition following the roster cutdown.
Kickoff between the Buccaneers and Vikings is set for 12 PM inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
