The Minnesota Vikings announced on Tuesday afternoon that they have finalized their 2023 coaching staff by making five hires to join the team. Those hires are as follows:

  • Imarjaye Albury (Defensive Assistant)
  • Thad Bogardus (Assistant Inside Linebackers)
  • Dalmin Gibson (Assistant Special Teams)
  • Pat Hill (Assistant Defensive Line)
  • Michael Hutchings (Assistant Defensive Backs)

Albury has been with the Vikings since the 2020 season and has six years of NFL coaching experience. He was a defensive line assistant in 2020 and 2021 before spending the 2022 season as a scout.

He is the only internal hire of this latest group, though. The rest of them have never been with the Vikings organization before, but Bogardus does have experience with head coach Kevin O’Connell in the past. Prior to joining the Vikings, Bogardus was with the Los Angeles Rams for six seasons, including the 2020-21 seasons with O’Connell. Last season, he was the outside linebackers coach for the Rams.

Meanwhile, Gibson, Hill, and Hutchings are joining the Vikings after spending time at the collegiate level. However, Gibson and Hill have a combined 19 years of coaching experience, so they have plenty of experience on their resumes heading into their new roles.

As for Hutchings, he spent the 2013-16 seasons playing linebacker for the USC Trojans. During that 2016 season, USC won the Rose Bowl over Penn State, and recorded 66 tackles, 8 TFLs, and 4 sacks during that season. The former collegiate linebacker turned to a coaching career following his college days, and during the 2022 season, he was the outside linebackers coach for Western Kentucky.
