Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.

The View from VT: October 7th, 2023

1) Two Vikings Have Already Been Benched, So a Week 4 Blunder Would Hint at More to Come: Thankfully, the Vikings got back to some winning ways in Week 4. Basically everything feels better after a victory, even if it’s against the declawed Panthers. How will people feel if the Week 5 game ends in a win?

2) A New Viking Emerges as an Option at Center: Blake Brandel has proven to be an invaluable depth piece. Clearly, the offensive lineman isn’t scared of working hard and nor is he afraid of learning new things. Don’t be surprised if the Vikings make an effort to keep him around beyond 2023.

3) Rob Gronkowski Again Advocates for Vikings Trade: The all-time great TE makes his case for the Vikings moving on from a certain QB (one who is no stranger to being included in the trade chatter that takes place online). While a trade will grow more likely if losing keeps coming, the Vikings may do the inverse if the season turns around: an extension isn’t as unlikely as people think.

4) One Viking is Quietly Earning a Starting Job: The backup center — Austin Schlottmann — has been doing a really nice job. True, no one is mistaking him for Jason Kelce, but there aren’t too many in the same realm as Philly’s All-Pro center. Schlottmann has been rock solid, giving the Vikings confidence at center if Garrett Bradbury needs more time to heal.

5) Vikings Strangely Urged to Sign Veteran Free Agent Cornerback: In fairness, the defense doesn’t have a pile of talent, so the desire to keep adding makes some sense. What’s evident, though, is that the Vikings are fairly content rolling with their largely inexperienced secondary. Apart from The Hitman, youth reigns at corner and safety.
