The View from VT: Brutal Injury Update, Surprise QB, & Jefferson’s Endorsement
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: December 30th, 2023
1) The T.J. Hockenson Injury Update is Brutal: Awful news. One wonders if we’ll see the team’s TE1 still snag a spot on the All Pro team. After all, his stats point toward someone who was among the league’s preeminent options at tight end. T.J. Hockenson, though, will see his numbers come up just a bit short of some notable benchmarks (100+ catches and 1,000+ yards).
2) Surprise! Vikings Announce QB Mystery: A lot of the time, Vikings fans don’t get what they want (understatement alert). In other instances, though, the fans see their desire come to fruition. What was once a mystery is now a certainty: Mr. Jaren Hall is going to be a starter in Week 17. The rookie 5th-round selection is starting against the Packers in a true must-win for the Vikings’ playoff hopes. Oh, and the game is in prime time. Welcome to the NFL, kid.
3) Vikings Called Perfect Fit for QB Prospect: Playing for the Vikings is a dream scenario for a lot of young quarterbacks. The head coach, Kevin O’Connell, got his start in the NFL as a QB. Go ahead and partner the young QB with a vast array of skill — Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson — and then a terrifying twosome at offensive tackle — Christian Darrisaw, Brian O’Neill. Not bad, folks, not bad at all.
4) Justin Jefferson Endorses His Preferred QB Choice for 2024 Vikings: When Justin Jefferson speaks, the Vikings listen. Or, at least, the Vikings should listen. He’s without question the team’s best player and cornerstone both now and in the future. Keeping him very happy when it comes to calling Minnesota home is of the utmost importance.
5) Former Vikings HC Wants Back In: Yes, things ended poorly, but Mike Zimmer still did plenty of good things in his eight seasons as Minnesota’s head coach. Seeing him jump directly into a head coach opening would be surprising but a DC opening could end up being a nice way for him to get back into the NFL.
