The View from VT: Another QB Casualty, Players Who Left MN, & Picks Galore in 2024
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: November 25th, 2023
1) Quarterback Casualty Impacts Vikings Again: Been a wild season in Minnesota when it comes to player health, or lack thereof. The Vikings are getting healthier, but let’s not forget that Josh Dobbs is the QB4. And that’s not even getting into the various absences from players like Jefferson, Darrisaw, Davenport, Akers, Osborn, Evans, Hicks, and many others. The injury over in Cincinnati is just another bit of bad news for the NFL’s QBs.
2) Beloved Former Vikings Who Left in Free Agency Are in Bad Situations: Hard not to think back to Adam Thielen’s offseason proclamation that the Panthers could push for a Super Bowl. As it stands, they’re the worst team in the NFL. Other players like Dalvin Tomlinson, Patrick Peterson, Eric Kendricks, and Dalvin Cook are with teams ranging from pretty good to pretty bad.
3) Don’t Get it Twisted. There’s 1 Main Reason for the Vikings’ Loss at DEN: Hard not to look at the turnovers as the main reason why Minnesota picked up their fifth loss of the year. Josh Dobbs got in on an interception and a fumble. Alexander Mattison added another onto the total, and it’s hard not to think that the RB’s fumble was the turning point in the game.
4) Draft Picks Galore for the Vikings in 2024: Gotta admire a good rhyme, folks. The Vikings haven’t been shy about pulling off trades in the Kwesi Adofo-Mensah era. The young executive has made a concerted effort to pile up picks for the upcoming draft, further evidence that we’re heading toward a deeply consequential offseason for the future of the Minnesota Vikings.
5) The Vikings Employ a Pro Bowl Sleeper: Mr. Dobbs hasn’t lacked praise. And, to be sure, he’s doing some incredible work. Coming over during the middle of a season and performing at a winning level at the game’s most important position is no small feat, especially upon considering his modest track record in the NFL. With the Vikings, Dobbs has been overcoming the “journeyman” label and proving that he’s capable of being a starter in the right situation.
