Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look of five of their articles from the past week.

The View from VT: July 29th, 2023

1) Former Viking Joins Aaron Rodgers’ Team: Good to see the pass rusher get another chance. He provided some quality snaps for the Vikings. Truthfully, he’s likely best suited for a rotational role, but he has shown some ability to get after the quarterback. Continuing to demonstrate that ability will keep him employed in the NFL.

2) Vikings Now Employ the Fastest Player in the NFL: No roster addition was made, and yet the Vikings now have the fastest player. Kalon Barnes, a backup corner, has speed to spare. To get onto the final roster, Barnes will need to show that he’s a special teams ace — perhaps as a gunner? — and that he can keep growing as a corner.

3) The Most Encouraging News of the Day for Vikings Fans: Yes, the injury update was fantastic news. Brian O’Neill suffered an Achilles injury in the disastrous Green Bay game at the end of the 2022 season. Losing the stud RT definitely made things more challenging for the Vikings’ offense. Getting him back and at 100% in time for Week 1 would be a massive boost.

4) Vikings WR Returns After Clearing Waivers: Good to see him back with the team. Not too long ago, Josh Frey wrote about his potential in a piece for PurplePTSD. The rookie offers some upside as someone capable of growing into a role on offense while being a special teams contributor.

5) A Viking Quietly Changed Positions: The team has a fair bit of depth at offensive tackle, so flipping Oli Udoh into the RG spot does make some sense. Unfortunately, he struggled to maintain a strong performance at that spot when he was given the chance to be the team’s starter. Working with Kevin O’Connell and Chris Kuper may help, though.
