The View from VT: Aaron Rodgers as a Viking, WR Rumors, & Draft Speculation

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look of five of their articles from the past week.
1) Colin Cowherd Predicts Purple Future for Aaron Rodgers: The parallels really are pretty fascinating. Even still, I’d be shocked to see Rodgers play for Minnesota. If he did, there would be some very mixed feelings.

2) Derek Carr’s New Contract Has Kirk Cousins Implications: In a broad sense, I certainly agree. Contracts are contextual. Players (and their agents) and GMs negotiate deals based on what other players at that position are getting. That being said, I think the Carr deal helps Minnesota with the negotiations. Don’t forget that annual average means very, very little in the NFL.
3) The 1 WR That Keeps Popping Up for Vikings in Free Agency: He’s someone who does make a lot of sense. In the PurplePTSD Top 32 Free Agents, he comes in at 23rd. Super tall and super fast will always be a fascinating combo for a receiver.
4) Vikings Could Pursue an Old Rumor in 2023 Free Agency: The idea was discussed on PurplePTSD, as well. OBJ certainly has a lot of connections with Minnesota. He’s pals with Justin Jefferson and knows Kevin O’Connell from their shared time in LA. Alas, I don’t think it’ll happen, but I’ve been wrong before.

5) Only 2 Spots Are Off the Table for Vikings in Round 1 of Draft: Before free agency, it’s tough to predict what positions will be on or off the table at the end of April. Nevertheless, we can make some pretty good guesses. Hop over to VT to see the spots they think will be less likely to be selected.
