The Minnesota Vikings will attempt to right the ship on Thursday night as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

Minnesota got their 2023 season started on a sour note as they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, but now they get a chance to get an upset road win just four days after that loss.

With that game fast-approaching, the Vikings have released their Tuesday injury report, and it tells a very similar story to Monday.

The Vikings once again did not hold a full practice on Tuesday, so their injury report is simply an estimation of who would have participated. Here is the full list:

  • C Garrett Bradbury (DNP, back)
  • OT Christian Darrisaw (Limited, ankle)
  • OLB Marcus Davenport (Limited, ankle)

Once again, Bradbury was listed as a DNP for Tuesday, so there are concerns about his status for Thursday night’s game. The center left Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay very early on with a back injury.

Meanwhile, both Darrisaw and Davenport were listed as limited with their ankle injuries. Darrisaw played the majority of Sunday’s game, but he did have to leave for a few snaps to get his ankle looked at. In his stead, Oli Udoh stepped in at the left tackle spot.

As for Davenport, his ankle injury seems to have popped up late last week, and the first time we saw him on an injury report was last Friday. He did not play in Week 1 because of the injury, but this “limited” status indicates that he is recovering.

The outside linebacker was signed in free agency this spring and has been hoped to be the replacement for Za’Darius Smith on the defense. His first five seasons in New Orleans were inconsistent, partially due to injuries.

He recorded 21.5 sacks over his five years with the Saints, including a 2021 season where he put together 9 in just 11 games. However, he was limited to just half a sack in 15 games during the 2022 season before hitting free agency.

Hopefully, Davenport will be able to make his Vikings debut on Thursday night and make an impact for his new team. Both the Eagles and Vikings will release one more injury report tomorrow before kickoff at 7:15 PM on Thursday, September 14th.
