The View from VT: A New Vikings Logo, Bargain Contract, & Cook Update
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look of five of their articles from the past week.
1) Social Media Gushes over Vikings ‘New’ Logo Design: The design looks really slick. Minnesota, as far as I can tell, isn’t in a hurry to change their official logo. Nevertheless, the re-design is a really sharp option.
2) A Dark Horse Emerges for any Lingering Kirk Cousins Trade Scenarios: I’ll believe it when I see it. All the indications are that Kirk Cousins is the QB for 2023. Depending on how things go, his job could continue beyond the current year. Seeing him depart before the end of the year, though, would be a major surprise.
3) Promising Ex-Viking Signed a Bargain Contract: Predictably, there wasn’t a huge contract for the former 2nd-round selection. Landing in Cincinnati is great scenario for the TE. He can partner with Joe Burrow to (hopefully) put together an excellent season. He can then head back into free agency to secure a large pay day.
4) There’s a Dalvin Cook Update: A lot of the signs continue to point toward a divorce between the talented RB and the Vikings. He’s carrying a large cap hit and is coming off a pedestrian season (at least by his lofty standards). Kwesi Adofo-Mensah would likely welcome the added cap space and an extra draft pick.
5) Did the Vikings Problem Just Go Away?: Well, that’s certainly the hope for a lot of Vikings fans. As of right now, though, the problem is still calling Green Bay home. Perhaps the Jets’ recent addition is the foreshadowing we need to finally see this deal reach completion.
