The View from VT: Ending the Kicker Battle, Rave Reviews, & The 2022 Hero’s Struggle
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece (better late than never, I hope). Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: August 21st, 2023
1) Vikings Sign New RB and End Kicking Battle: Certainly not celebrating the cut with Jack Podlesny, but hard not to cheer for Greg Joseph. The kicker hasn’t always had the easiest career and yet he’s still around. He takes responsibility when things go poorly and has demonstrated great resilience. Oh, and the clutch kicks in 2022 didn’t hurt, either.
2) Recently Waived Viking Finds New Team: Always good when the former Vikings get a shot to keep their NFL careers going. A lot of the late-round guys and UDFAs bounce around the league, but the hope is certainly that the current opportunity for the former Viking leads to lasting employment in a single spot.
3) Former Viking Gets Rave Reviews with New Team: He often looked really good while with the Vikings. Indeed, the running back commonly displayed great explosiveness, so it’s not a surprise to see him garnering praise in his next stop.
4) Vikings 2022 Hero Absolutely Buried on New Team’s Depth Chart: Duke Shelley has proven before that he’s capable of overcoming the odds. Maybe he’ll get the chance to do so once again in a Las Vegas defense that could use some help in the secondary.
5) Some Believe Vikings Will Be Scouting Opposing QB This Weekend for a Trade: Been discussing this one for a little while. Ran Carthon and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah are friends. The relationship makes a deal easier to put together and the Vikings don’t have a crystal-clear plan for their future at QB. Not a guarantee but, rather, some purple dot connecting.
Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
