This weekend, the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings are set to do battle at Mercedez-Benz Stadium.

The two teams sit at 4-4 to begin the season, and a win this weekend would go a long way towards ensuring a playoff berth in January for either team. Ahead of the matchup, the Vikings have released their first injury report of the week, and only 1 Viking had to sit out of practice on Wednesday. That players is DE Dean Lowry.

Here is a look at the Vikings full injury report from Wednesday:

  • DE Dean Lowry (Groin, DNP)
  • LB Brian Asamoah (Ankle, Limited)
  • CB Akayleb Evans (Neck, Limited)
  • WR K.J. Osborn (Chest, Limited)
  • WR Brandon Powell (Shoulder, Limited)
  • WR Jalen Nailor (Hamstring, Full)
  • IOL Chris Reed (Foot, Full)

Lowry has played all eight games including three starts for the Vikings this season. However, he has had an increasingly limited role for Minnesota on the defense, playing 25 or fewer defensive snaps in four of the past five weeks. Hopefully he is able to be healthy enough to suit up, but it is not a huge loss for the Vikings defense if he needs to sit out for a week.

Meanwhile, Minnesota welcomed back a couple players to the practice field on Wednesday. LB Brian Asamoah returned to practice after missing two of the last three games with his ankle injury.

Chris Reed also practiced in a full capacity on Wednesday. He was placed on the NFI list ahead of training camp and hasn’t been able to go at all this season because of his stress fracture. Last season, Reed proved to be an important piece at the end of the year after both Garrett Bradbury and Austin Schlottmann went down with injuries.

Jalen Nailor also was a full participant as he continues to work his way back from his hamstring injury. The second-year wide receiver hasn’t played since Week 2 against the Eagles, and he is yet to appear in a snap with the offense this season.

Considering Justin Jefferson is on IR for another week while both K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell were limited participants on Wednesday, Week 9 could be Nailor’s opportunity to get snaps with the group for the first time. During his rookie season, Nailor had 9 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota will release two more injury reports this week before they kick off their matchup against the Falcons on Sunday, November 5th.
