Week 11 of the NFL season is in the books.

This weekend proved to be one of the wilder slates of football this season with multiple games having big impacts on how teams fit into the standings. As we look ahead to Week 12, here is a peek at the updated 2023 NFL standings.

AFC East

  1. Miami Dolphins (7-3)
  2. Buffalo Bills (6-5)
  3. New York Jets (4-6)
  4. New England Patriots (2-8)

Miami was able to maintain their 1.5-game lead over the Bills on Sunday, but it was not without a close battle against the Raiders at home. The Dolphins defense proved to hold strong enough in the matchup, which is good for them considering the Bills absolutely dominated the Jets this weekend to get back over .500.

AFC North

  1. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)
  2. Cleveland Browns (7-3)
  3. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)
  4. Cincinnati Bengals (5-5)

The big story from the AFC North is Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury. He was injured during Cincinnati’s game against Baltimore, and the Bengals ended up losing that game. Thus, they continue to find themselves in last place in the division with little hope of moving up.

Elsewhere in the AFC North, the Browns were able to secure a 13-10 win over the Steelers despite also losing their QB, Deshaun Watson, for the remainder of the season. Cleveland now firmly controls the No. 5 seed in the AFC.

AFC South

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)
  2. Houston Texans (6-4)
  3. Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
  4. Tennessee Titans (3-7)

It was a big bounce-back week for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they beat the brakes off of the Tennessee Titans this weekend to get to 7-3. They needed the win seeing as Houston was able to stave off the Cardinals this weekend and earned their sixth win of the season. The Colts were on their bye this week, so all they could do was sit and watch as the other contenders in the division pulled away from them.

AFC West

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)
  2. Denver Broncos (5-5)
  3. Las Vegas Raiders (5-6)
  4. Los Angeles Chargers (4-6)

With the Chiefs falling to the Eagles on Monday night, the Broncos continue to move up in the AFC West. Denver was able to win their fourth consecutive game on Sunday night by defeating the Vikings, and they are suddenly just two games behind Kansas City for the division lead.

The Raiders took a slight step back with their loss to the Dolphins, but they were able to stay out of the basement in the division because of Los Angeles’ loss to the Packers.

NFC East

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (9-1)
  2. Dallas Cowboys (7-3)
  3. Washington Commanders (4-7)
  4. New York Giants (3-8)

The Eagles landed a huge road win over the Chiefs on Monday night, which was needed if they wanted to hold onto the best record in the league. Both Dallas and New York were able to get wins this week as well, with the Giants’ win coming against the Commanders. Washington continues to lose ground in the Wild Card race.

NFC North

  1. Detroit Lions (8-2)
  2. Minnesota Vikings (6-5)
  3. Green Bay Packers (4-6)
  4. Chicago Bears (3-8)

With the Vikings’ winning streak coming to an end on Sunday night, the Lions were able to add a game to their lead in the NFC North. This is important for them because with their lead at 2.5 games, they currently only need to win one of the two games against Minnesota later in the season to secure a division crown.

NFC South

  1. New Orleans Saints (5-5)
  2. Atlanta Falcons (4-6)
  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)
  4. Carolina Panthers (1-9)

Much of the NFC South was on bye this week, with both the Saints and Falcons sitting out. The Panthers hosted the Dallas Cowboys, but the game quickly got out of hand as they lost their ninth game of the season. The same can be said of the Buccaneers and their loss to the 49ers.

NFC West

  1. San Francisco 49ers (7-3)
  2. Seattle Seahawks (6-4)
  3. Los Angeles Rams (4-6)
  4. Arizona Cardinals (2-9)

The NFC West is getting chaotic. The 49ers took over sole possession of the division lead after they defeated the Buccaneers on Sunday while Seattle fell to the Rams. Now, the 49ers and Seahawks will play twice in the next three weeks to sort things out in the division.
