Many fans were looking forward to Justin Jefferson getting back on the field last weekend.

Jefferson had missed seven consecutive games after his hamstring injury landed him on IR following Week 5. However, the star receiver’s return did not even make it through the first half as he once again exited in Week 14 following a hit to the chest from Raiders safety Marcus Epps.

Following the injury, Jefferson has been a limited participant in practices this week, but on Wednesday, he eliminated any mystery surrounding his game status. Consider the Vikings WR1 to be a go this weekend in Cincinnati.

On Wednesday, Jefferson was asked by reporters regarding whether or not he would be around for the Vikings. Sometimes, the star receiver will go into very nuanced detail when he gives answers during interviews and press conferences, but this time around he opted to keep things very simple.

“Yeah, yeah,” Jefferson replied. When pressed further on the topic, he summed things up with a single word: “Yup.”

So there you have it. Fans can expect to see the #18 jersey out there on the field this Saturday when the Vikings take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jefferson’s game ended with a pair of receptions which totaled 27 yards, and he went through the entire first quarter without a catch. It was a very modest day for the star even with the injury, but it was enough to ensure that he now holds the Vikings franchise record for most receiving yards through four seasons, passing Randy Moss.

It’s been a tumultuous few weeks for the Vikings on offense, and this past weekend, it culminated in another QB change for the team. Nick Mullens took over for Minnesota down the stretch of Sunday’s game, becoming the fourth quarterback to take snaps for the team this season.

Now, Mullens is set to become the fourth starting QB for the Vikings this season, and it appears that Jefferson will indeed be back on the field for that game.

The Vikings will release an injury report later on Thursday afternoon with game statuses for all injured players, so we will know more when that is released. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM Central on Saturday, December 16th at Paycor Stadium.
