The Minnesota Vikings have had a few disappointing draft picks in recent years, but it’s hard to surpass the disappointment found in 2016 Vikings first-rounder Laquon Treadwell. The wide receiver was picked with the 23rd overall pick that year, and in a thin WR class, he was the fourth receiver off the board that year behind Corey Coleman (No. 15), Will Fuller (No. 21), and Josh Doctson (No. 22).

Treadwell never lived up to that first-round hype over his four years in Minnesota, totaling just 65 receptions, 701 receiving yards, and 2 TDs. His best season came in 2018 where he recorded 35 receptions, 302 yards, and a touchdown.

Now, the former Vikings first-rounder has been on a journey across the NFL since 2020, and most recently, it was reported that he would be visiting with one of the Vikings NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers.

This news was initially announced by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, and if the former Viking were to join San Francisco, he’d hop into an extremely talented wide receiver group that includes Brandon Aiyuk, Danny Gray, Jauan Jennings, Tay Martin, Ray-Ray McCloud, Dazz Newsome, and Deebo Samuel.

Following his stint with the Vikings, Treadwell joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2020 and played just five games, catching 6 passes for 49 yards and 2 TDs. Then, 2021, he proceeded to have the best season of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, catching 33 passes for a career-high 434 receiving yards and a touchdown. He held the third-highest receiving total that year for Jacksonville.

Then, 2022 saw him bounce around on multiple teams throughout the season, having stints with the Patriots, Seahawks, and Cardinals. He appeared in six games, all coming with Seattle, and recorded 6 receptions for 42 yards.

Treadwell will be entering his age-28 season in 2023.
