The Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off in Week 5 of the NFL season.

The Vikings are coming off their first win of the year after knocking off the Carolina Panthers 21-13 on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Chiefs played a sloppy game against the New York Jets, but they were also able to win their third straight game this past weekend.

Heading into Week 5, Kansas City has released their first injury report, and there are notable Chiefs defenders on this initial report.

Here is a look at the full list of Chiefs injuries from Wednesday:

  • DT Matt Dickerson (Knee, DNP)
  • LB Nick Bolton (Ankle, Limited)
  • CB Jaylen Watson (Shoulder, Limited)
  • LB Jack Cochrane (Calf, Full)
  • DL Chris Jones (Groin, Full)
  • DE George Karlaftis (Knee, Full)
  • CB L’Jarius Sneed (Knee, Full)
  • WR Kadarius Toney (Toe, Full)
  • LB Drue Tranquill (Wrist, Full)

Matt Dickerson is the only player on the report who needed to sit out of Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury. He has appeared in three games for the Chiefs, largely as a rotational piece. He has recorded 76 snaps this season with four tackles to his name.

Meanwhile, Nick Bolton (ankle) and Jaylen Watson (shoulder) were both limited on Wednesday. Bolton has missed each of the past two games, but he has been a key player for the defense when available. During the first two games of the season, he recorded 15 total tackles and PFF gave him a pass-rushing grade of 73.9 for his efforts.

Chris Jones also remains on the injury report with a groin injury. He was a limited participant throughout Kansas City’s Week 4 practice sessions, but luckily for the Chiefs, he has been upgraded to a full participant to begin this week.

Jones sat out Kansas City’s Week 1 loss to Detroit with his hold-out but returned after signing a new one-year deal worth $19.5 million. Since returning to the team, he has put together a strong season with 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and a pass defense to his name.

Assuming Jones is able to play, the interior of Minnesota’s offensive line will face a massive test against the 8-year veteran. In 2022, he was named a first-team All-Pro and finished third in the Defensive Player of the Year voting with 15.5 sacks.

Both Kansas City and Minnesota will release two more injury reports on Thursday and Friday before their Week 5 matcup on Sunday, October 8th. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 PM Central inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
