Buccaneers List 6 Players on Thursday’s Injury Report
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings are set to face off on Sunday, September 10th inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
During their preparation for this weekend’s game, both teams have been releasing injury reports over the past couple days.
On Thursday, the Vikings listed a pair of players on their report in LB Troy Dye and P Ryan Wright. Meanwhile, on the Tampa Bay side, they have the same five players on their injury report from Wednesday while also adding RG Cody Mauch to their list of injuries.
Buccaneers List 6 Players on Thursday’s Injury Report
Tampa Bay’s full list of injuries on Thursday looked like this:
- DT Calijah Kancey (Foot, Limited)
- S Kaveon Merriweather (Quad, Full)
- LB Anthony Nelson (Hamstring, Limited)
- RB Ke’Shawn Nelson (Non-Injury, Full)
- S Antoine Winfield (Calf, Full)
- RG Cody Mauch (Back, DNP)
Luckily for the Bucs, their first-round pick Calijah Kancey was able to participate in part of practice on Thursday after sitting out all of Wednesday. He was selected 19th overall by Tampa Bay after a strong collegiate career at Pittsburgh where he recorded 91 tackles, 34.5 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks.
Kancey is looking to fill the void left by Akiem Hicks on Tampa Bay’s defensive line this season, who left the team this offseason.
RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn also was back at practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session due to a non-injury related matter. Vaughn was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Tampa Bay, and in his first three seasons, the running back has recorded 79 carries for 342 yards and 2 TDs.
Vaughn is currently listed as the RB4 on Tampa Bay’s depth chart behind Rachaad White, Sean Tucker, and Chase Edmonds.
Meanwhile Kaveon Merriweather was also a full participant on Thursday after being limited during Wednesday’s practice with a quad injury. Both Merriweather and Antoine Winfield are starting safeties for the Bucs defense, so the fact that each of them were able to fully practice on Thursday is a positive sign for their game status on Sunday.
Both teams will release one more injury report on Friday before they kick off the regular season on Sunday at 12 PM.
