The Minnesota Vikings have been shaking things up on their offensive line quite a bit recently.

Over the past couple weeks, the team has signed players like Christian DiLauro and Jarrid Williams while releasing Sam Schlueter and Bobby Evans.

On Monday, the Vikings announced yet another move on their offensive line with the signing of OT Chim Okorafor. They also have opted to waive Jacky Chen. The team made the announcement by tweeting, “The #Vikings have signed T Chim Okorafor (@chimothyyy) and waived T Jacky Chen.”

Okorafor was an undrafted free agent this spring after spending the final portion of his collegiate career at Benedictine College. He was named an NAIA All-American during the 2022 season for the Benedictine Ravens. He also spent time at Cal Poly Pomona and Riverside City Community College.

Okorafor was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles this spring, but he was released on August 8th, prior to the team’s first preseason game this past weekend.

As for Chen, he was also an undrafted free agent this spring out of Pace University. Chen was signed by the Vikings in May and appeared in three special teams snaps during Minnesota’s first preseason game against the Seahawks, all coming with the field goal unit.

With the swap of Chen and Okorafor, the Vikings now employ Christian Darrisaw, Brian O’Neill, Vederian Lowe, Oli Udoh, DiLauro, Williams, and Okorafor at the offensive tackle position.

As O’Neill continues to progress from his Achilles tear suffered last season, there should be plenty of opportunity for these depth players at training camp ahead of the 2023 season.
