About a week ago, the Minnesota Vikings announced that they had set their schedule for two home preseason games in August. Now, on Tuesday afternoon, the Vikings announced that they have officially finalized their 2023 preseason schedule by setting a date and time for their road game against the Seattle Seahawks.

That game, the preseason opener for Minnesota, will take place at 9 P.M. CST on Thursday, August 10th. With that, the Vikings preseason schedule officially looks like this:

  • Week 1: Thursday, August 10th @ Seattle Seahawks at 9 P.M. CST
  • Week 2: Saturday, August 19th vs. Tennessee Titans at 7 P.M. CST
  • Week 3: Saturday, August 26th vs. Arizona Cardinals at 12 P.M. CST

The Seahawks were one of the bigger surprises of the 2022 season after trading away QB Russell Wilson. With Geno Smith at the helm, Seattle finished their regular season 9-8, earning a Wild Card berth and taking the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.

Smith threw for 4282 yards, 30 TDs, and 11 INTs along the way, earning the Comeback Player of the Year for his impressive season and first as a full-time starter since 2014 with the New York Jets.

Unfortunately for Seattle, their playoff run ended about as quickly as it began, getting beaten by the No. 2 seeded San Francisco 49ers by a score of 41-23. Now, the Vikings will get to be the first team to see if Seattle’s unpredicted success in 2022 will carry over in 2023.

The Vikings got their OTAs started this week, with the second of nine practices taking place on Tuesday. By reaching that milestone, we are growing ever-closer to training camp officially getting started in July, and then, we will see the 2023 Vikings take the field for their first exhibition game.

We are getting close to football season, folks.
