Vikings Will Be Without 2 Starters vs. Chargers
The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers are set to kick off in just over an hour.
Ahead of that matchup, the Vikings have released their inactives list for Week 3, and it appears that the Vikings will be without 2 starters against LA. Here is a look at the full list:
- RB Cam Akers
- C Garrett Bradbury
- OLB Marcus Davenport
- QB Jaren Hall
- TE Nick Muse
- DL Khyiris Tonga
Vikings Will Be Without 2 Starters vs. Chargers
Both Garrett Bradbury and Marcus Davenport are set to miss another game this season as they continue to deal with injuries.
Bradbury played just seven snaps of the Vikings season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before leaving with a back injury. Since then, Minnesota has been relying on Austin Schlottmann at the center position.
Davenport’s story has been very similar to begin the year. The Vikings acquired him via free agency this spring in order to replace Za’Darius Smith, who was eventually traded to the Browns. An ankle injury has limited him to just four snaps this season, which came last week against the Eagles. He will now miss his second game of the season.
However, the Vikings will get their star left tackle back in the lineup this weekend as Christian Darrisaw avoided the inactives list for this weekend. Darrisaw sat out Week 2 with an ankle injury of his own and was replaced by Oli Udoh.
Additionally, the newest Vikings player won’t suit up on Sunday as RB Cam Akers is listed as an inactive today. Akers was acquired via trade with the Rams earlier in the week in exchange for conditional draft pick in 2026.
Akers spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with Kevin O’Connell when he was the offensive coordinator for the Rams. He won’t get a chance to play this weekend, but the hope is that he can help rejuvenate the Vikings running game later in the year.
The Chargers will also release an inactives list prior to the game, and kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM Central inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
