The NFL released the first official fan voting results, and there have been some interesting outcomes so far.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network tweeted out the lists of top-10 vote getters at each position, but only one Vikings star leads his position group, and you guessed it, it’s long snapper Andrew DePaola. Jokes aside, the former Pro Bowler also led that group last year, so this should come as no surprise.

A couple other tidbits regarding the voting:

TJ Hockenson is third at the tight end while leading the league in catches from the tight end spot with 80 grabs. Danielle Hunter is fourth for outside linebackers behind his 13.5 sacks so far this season.

Other Vikings who are in the top 10 in fan voting include SS Josh Metellus (7th), FB CJ Ham (7th), FS Cam Bynum (8th), SS Harrison Smith (9th), and C Garrett Bradbury (9th).

One notable name is missing from the above list, and that is Christian Darrisaw, who has been fantastic from the left side all season long. The third-year starter has only allowed 19 pressures in 12 games, and has just two penalties to his name.

Darrisaw’s PFF grade is also an impressive 85.0 which is tied for third-best at the left tackle position, and is graded as elite. Apparently, though, this was not enough to crack into the top 10 of the voting. Instead, here are the players who make up that top 10 at offensive tackle:

  1. Trent Williams (San Francisco 49ers)
  2. Lane Johnson (Philadelphia Eagles)
  3. Tyron Smith (Dallas Cowboys)
  4. Penei Sewell (Detroit Lions)
  5. Jordan Mailata (Philadelphia Eagles)
  6. Terron Armstead (Miami Dolphins)
  7. Laremy Tunsil (Houston Texans)
  8. Tristan Wirfs (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
  9. Terence Steele (Dallas Cowboys)
  10. Dion Dawkins (Buffalo Bills)

This is only the first round of online voting results, so there is still plenty of time to get Darrisaw his respect. It remains interesting, though, that one of the best at his position is not getting love from the fans. If Darrisaw continues to play at this level, he may not only be a Pro Bowler, but also an All-Pro left tackle when the 2023 season concludes.
