Aaron Rodgers Has Given the New York Jets a “Wish-List”
Veteran NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been in the headlines once again because of uncertainty regarding his future with the Green Bay Packers. This time around, though, there seems to be three clear options for 39-year-old QB:
- Go back to Green Bay
- Retire
- Be traded to the New York Jets

The trade to New York seems to be the most likely option as of now, but Dianna Russini of ESPN reported on Tuesday that Rodgers has given the Jets a “wish-list” of free agents to target this offseason. Among the free agents are a number of Packers players and WR Odell Beckham Jr. Here is the full list as reported by Russini:
- Marcedes Lewis
- Randall Cobb
- Allen Lazard
- Odell Beckham Jr.
The Jets actually have already pulled off one of these moves by signing Lazard to a 4-year contract worth a total of $44 million, so this trade continues to get even likelier.
This is notable not only for the Jets and Packers, but also for the Vikings. First and foremost, this means that there is a distinct possibility that if Rodgers gets traded to the Jets, he will also bring with him a number of the top weapons from the 2022 Packers roster.
If this happens, it could leave the Packers offense without a number of its veterans while they also try to transition to QB Jordan Love for the first time. Unless Love can be extremely resourceful with the young offensive weapons on Green Bay’s roster, this could make things difficult for the young QB, thus giving the Vikings a better chance at repeating for the NFC North.

In addition, the Vikings are one of the teams that could be interested in WR Odell Beckham Jr. If this is actually true, then Rodgers request for the Packers to sign the veteran WR could throw a wrench into any of those plans.
