A Look at the NFL National TV Broadcast Maps for Week 1
The 2023 NFL regular season schedule officially got underway this week when the Detroit Lions took on the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night.
This Sunday, though, we will finally get a full slate of 14 NFL games for the first time since January.
Here is a look at the NFL national TV broadcast maps for Week 1 of the season, per 506sports.com, and which games folks can expect to see in the Twin Cities area.

CBS (Early)
- Blue: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Minnesota Vikings
- Red: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
- Green: Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens
- Yellow: Tennessee Titans @ New Orleans Saints
Of course, the first NFL Sunday of the fall will begin with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings for folks in the Twin Cities area. This game features two playoff teams from a year ago with very differing styles of play.
The Buccaneers run out a stifling defense that often kept them in games during the 2022 season while the Vikings were a high-powered offensive unit that was forced to out-score opponents on a regular basis.
FOX (Early)
- Blue: Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Commanders
- Red: San Francisco 49ers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
- Green: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
- Yellow: Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons
If the Bucs/Vikings game turns into a blowout, or you’re one of the fans watching games on multiple screens, folks in the Twin Cities will also be able to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
San Francisco made a run to the NFC Championship Game last year before QB injuries took them out of that game by halftime. Meanwhile, the Steelers were red-hot to close the year and are looking to build off that strong finish in 2023. This is a game between two teams with a lot to prove, so it should be a very entertaining one.

- Red: Philadelphia Eagles @ New England Patriots
- Blue: Miami Dolphins @ Los Angeles Chargers
- Green: Las Vegas Raiders @ Denver Broncos
If Vikings fans want to stick with CBS for the late afternoon broadcast, those in the Twin Cities will get to see the reigning NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles head to Foxborough and take on Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
This game is sure to be full of emotion as Tom Brady returns to New England to be honored by fans while the Patriots hope to put together a big home upset over the Eagles to begin the year.

- Red: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears
- Blue: Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
Following the conclusion of the Bucs/Vikings game on Sunday, fans in the Twin Cities will get to watch an NFC North battle that has been hyped up ever since the schedule was initially released.
The Green Bay Packers head to Soldier Field this weekend to take on the Chicago Bears, but this time, they do it without QB Aaron Rodgers. Jordan Love hopes to continue Green Bay’s reign of terror over Chicago while Justin Fields is making an attempt to end the recent dreary era of Bears football.
