Winners from Day 3 of Senior Bowl Practices
Day 3 of Senior Bowl practices is officially in the books, and once again, there are multiple 2023 NFL Draft prospects that showed out by raising their draft stocks during the final practice session of the week. If you missed the previous days, you can check out the winners from Day 1 here and Day 2 here. Now, let’s talk about the five big winners from the final practice.
Wisconsin DT Keeanu Benton
Keeanu Benton was a powerful interior defensive lineman for a fierce Wisconsin Badgers defense throughout his collegiate career, and that ferocity showed up during Thursday’s session. He’s had awesome reps throughout the week, especially in one-on-ones, but this rep against Notre Dame’s Jarrett Patterson was particularly great.
Fresno State QB Jake Haener
Jake Haener out of Fresno State and Jaren Hall out of BYU went into this week of practices ranked similarly as prospects in the eyes of many analysts. However, the advantage has quickly gone to Haener as the week wore on. The Fresno State QB displayed great poise in the pocket, delivering sharp passes to his receiver as well as some ability to extend plays with his legs.
South Carolina DB Darius Rush
If we were to make an honorable mentions list for each of the first two days of the Senior Bowl practices, Darius Rush would be on both of them. He’s had a strong week in both the one-on-one and the team drills, and he capped it off with another great day. His draft stock is certainly up after these three days of practice.
Oregon State TE Luke Musgrave
Oregon State TE Luke Musgrave went into the week trying to make a name for himself among one of the deepest tight end classes that we’ve seen in many years. On Thursday especially, he did just that, displaying some terrific route-running and receiving skills. In some of the one-on-one drills, he looked more like a wide receiver than a tight end with his speed and fluid running.
Shepherd QB Tyson Bagent
QB Tyson Bagent got very little recognition during his time at Shepherd University despite throwing 159 touchdown passes during his career there. Throughout the week, Bagent has looked the part of a QB worthy of a draft selection, and Thursday’s session was a great outing for the D-II QB, with his performance in red zone drills particularly standing out.
