Q: Is Wyatt Davis actually going to play for the Saints after signing there on Thursday?

A: Yes, he is on the active roster, and the Saints don’t have a plethora of guards on the depth chart.

Plus, the Saints love Ohio State Buckeyes, now equaling seven on the roster after the Davis addition. Last year, the Saints offensive line ranked around 18th-best in the NFL, so it’s not like Davis will be buried behind All-Pro caliber players. He was previously on the New York Giants practice squad (for a week), but he is not on a practice squad in New Orleans.

After the Vikings drafted Ed Ingram, Davis was all but ixnayed from Minnesota’s long-term plans. We shall see if he blossoms in New Orleans.

Q: What is your official Super Bowl prediction?

A: This is wildly unpopular — but Chiefs over Cardinals.

Folks don’t have grievances with the Chiefs pick, but everyone scratches heads about Arizona. Well, each year, it seems some “other” team reaches the Super Bowl, often out of nowhere. Last year, it was the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kyler Murray is waiting to formally break out as a Top 5 NFL quarterback. And it is unlikely that the Cardinals will continue the trend of collapsing every December. In sort of a wildcard pick, the Cardinals will reach the Super Bowl.

Q: Is Andrew Booth really at the bottom of the Vikings CB depth chart?

A: Yes, when the Vikings released the regular season depth chart this week, Booth and fellow rookie Akayleb Evans switched spots.

The move flew under the radar and isn’t the end of the world. Booth will get his opportunity. But for now, it feels like his first two glorious days at training camp six weeks ago were flashes in the pan.

The Vikings will instead rely on Patrick Peterson, Cameron Dantzler, Chandon Sullivan, and Evans for pass coverage. Don’t be surprised if Booth wiggles into the mix soon, though.
