Q: When do we expect Andrew Booth to be ready for team activities?

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables talks with cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. Syndication: The Greenville News.

A: You’ve exposed the one vivid knock on Booth — health.

He is trending to be ready for training camp. It would be a surprise to see him in action at OTAs. But the takeaway right now is that he won’t miss real time in September (unless something funky happens).

Don’t expect him around activities early on, but instead a full participant this summer.

Q: So, Lewis Cine’s contract is fully guaranteed. Is that the norm?

A: Yes, we’re getting there.

In the last couple of drafts, the Top 24 picks were afforded fully-guaranteed contracts. And that’s the way it should be, taking care of the lifeblood of the sport — players.

Cine is no different, even at the 32nd pick. He signed his deal on Wednesday, four years and $11.5 million.

The NFLPA is pushing for fully-guaranteed contracts for all 1st-Rounders, and the league is obliging.

Q: Everyone expects Justin Jefferson to get a bunch more targets with Zimmer gone. How many will that be?

A: Justin Jefferson’s 292 targets in his first two seasons are the most in NFL history by any player ever through the first two seasons of a career.

So, don’t get it twisted — Jefferson was not under-targeted in Mike Zimmer’s offense. It was the opposite, actually.

Still, Jefferson will be targeted more, assuming his health remains pristine. He was targeted 167 times in 2021. Cooper Kupp, the league leader, was targeted 191 times.

So, let’s say about 180 targets.
