Q: Do you think the Vikings will have interest in Colin Kaepernick if he he isn’t signed by the Raiders?

A: Generally speaking — probably not.

In an interview with Mike Florio on Wednesday, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was complimentary of Kapernick, but that doesn’t mean he’ll sign him to the 2022 Vikings. Kaepernick will turn 35 this season and hasn’t played football since the 2016 season.

If the Vikings explore Kaepernick, it will mean that Kellen Mond isn’t good. That would be a sad turn of events.

Adofo-Mensah and Kaepernick were coworkers in San Francisco.

Q: Predict it — who starts in September: Cameron Dantzler or Andrew Booth?

A: We’ll predict Dantzler because he’s progressing well in his career, and the burden of proof will be on Booth to dethrone him.

Having too many good CBs is a wonderful problem, so you should relish this battle during the summer. Every minute of it.

Both of these men will probably headline the CB room for the 2023 or 2024 Vikings. That’s something to monitor. Also, keep an eye on Booth’s health, which is the knock on the young man.

Q: Where do you rank the combo of Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith for EDGE-rushing duos?

A: Let’s go with fourth-best.

  1. Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa (LAC)
  2. Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones (LV)
  3. Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead (SF)

Fourth feels like a fair estimation, considering Hunter and Smith’s collective injury history. And that injury history is very, very recent.

Hunter and Smith, in their purest healthy forms, can shoot up this list in a heartbeat, though.
