Q: So, Pat McAfee said the Vikings general manager is going to stink, based on his recent comments about Kirk Cousins. Am I the only one who thinks Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s answer was blown out of proportion?

A: No, you are not. You are correct, in fact. Some media outlets find the clicks too irresistible, though.

Adofo-Mensah said the Super Bowl is easier to win when you have Tom Brady on your team. In an insane twist, some folks weaponized the quote to infer “Kwesi doesn’t like Kirk.” You can’t make this stuff up.

Because the Vikings don’t employ Brady or Patrick Mahomes, Adofo-Mensah acknowledged the temptation of trying to find a quarterback of that caliber, which Cousins is not. Everybody knows it. But again, the words were sliced and diced to manufacture controversy. Welcome to CousinsVille.

Q: Jaren Allen reaches the Vikings Ring of Honor, which feels like a no-brainer. Who’s next?

Jared Allen

A: Probably Adrian Peterson — if he ever retires.

Chad Greenway might have an outside shot, but Peterson will be the next in line. And, of course, Peterson is a slam dunk to have his name etched in the rafters.

That announcement should hit somewhat soon after Peterson finally hangs up the cleats. It’s that much of a guarantee.

Q: Chris Reed got a peek at starting right guard today. Is this the beginning of his takeover?

Indianapolis Colts guard Danny Pinter (63) and guard Chris Reed (62) warm up before facing the Texans on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at NRG Stadium in Houston. Indianapolis Colts Versus Houston Texans On Sunday Dec 5 2021 At Nrg Stadium In Houston, Texas

A: Probably not, but the action doesn’t hurt.

Davis is battling a minor injury, it seems. The Vikings like him for right guard, so he won’t be knocked off the block by one or two missed practice sessions.

According to the numbers, however, Reed may be a better option. This is his chance to prove himself — and we expect him to do so. He was quite proficient with the Indianapolis Colts.

Overall, just cherish the circumstance of the Vikings rostering three possible starting RG candidates as opposed to a Dakota Dozier-Dru Samia sandwich. Welcome to the new era.
