Q: Justin Jefferson is the odds-on favorite to lead the NFL in receiving yards. Do you think it happens?

A: We were asked last week if he’d break the single-season receiving yards record, and we predicted no.

Leading the NFL in receiving yards is achievable, though, as Jefferson should receive more targets than ever. And, always remember — Jefferson is already the most targeted player in NFL history through a player’s first two seasons.

On this one, we’ll say yes. Based on sheer attention in the Vikings offense, Jefferson can lead the league in receiving yards.

Q: With Cleveland entering the Ndamukong Suh sweepstakes, are they the new favorite to sign him?

A: It’s a three-way race, for now, between the Raiders, Browns, and Vikings.

The Browns aren’t necessarily the favorite, but they are the latest organization to express interest. Suh had a quiet year in 2021, and this season, we’ll learn if that was an outlier or the beginning of his age-related slowdown.

Suh is a future Hall of Famer and would fit nicely in the middle of the Vikings defensive line. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has enough to cap space to sign him. Let’s see if it happens.

Q: Is Patrick Peterson a first-ballot Hall of Famer?

Patrick Peterson

A: Yes.

Peterson is an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro. If he retired tonight, he should be considered a lock for the Hall of Fame.

What he should do, though, is win a Super Bowl with the Vikings to dispel any doubts.

Peterson was also a member of the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
