Q: Does the Bears trade for N’Keal Harry move the needle at all for their 2022 offense?
A: Harry to Chicago moves the needle a smidgen.
He didn’t take off in New England, a place with a winning culture that usually embraces playmakers. The Bears employ Darnell Mooney, who is emerging as a reliable WR1. But after Mooney, it’s Harry, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Byron Pringle — all WRs of the same caliber.
Harry gives Justin Fields another target, but he is not a dynamic game-changer.
Q: Like Le’Veon Bell, do you believe Adrian Peterson will take up boxing as a career path? Or is this a one-and-done for Peterson?
A: Indeed, the switch to boxing may be permanent for Bell. But for Peterson, it’s likely to be a one-hit-wonder.
Peterson is 37, whereas Bell is 30. Age is the main reason Bell could take off in the boxing world — he still has his 30s in front of him.
We believe Peterson will win the fight, but that’s probably because this is a Vikings-themed website.
Q: I read where the Ndamukong Suh to Vikings stuff is still alive. Do you think he’ll sign with the Vikings?
A: Suh is reportedly talking to the Raiders and Vikings, meaning they’re the current frontrunners for his services. Unscientifically, we’ll put the odds of Suh joining Minnesota at about 25%.
He certainly feels more like a Raider than a Viking, but Minnesota could use him if it doesn’t trust Armon Watts for a full 17-game season. And until training camp begins, we won’t know how Watts looks for Year Four. Perhaps he’s on the cusp of a full-time starter job inside Ed Donatell’s defense. But maybe Suh is a better option.
We’d welcome a Suh addition but are banking on Watts as the Week 1 starter.
