Midweek VT: Smith’s Injury, a Magic Number, & Breaking Packer Hearts

1) Vikings Statistically Tabbed as ‘3rd-Worst’ 6-1 Team of All-Time: Frankly, I don’t really know what to do with that determination. Have the Vikings been the most impressive 6-1 team of all time? Definitely not. There have been several games they could have lost. Even still, their record indicates they’re among the league’s best.
2) Once Again, Irv Smith is Injured: It’s unfortunate news for the TE with so much potential. If things continue on their current trajectory, Smith will likely be playing elsewhere after the current season. Minnesota was likely hoping for much more from the former second-round pick.
3) Suddenly, the Vikings Have a Magic Number: The strong start means the Vikings have control over their playoff path. The race for the NFC North favors the Minnesota Vikings by quite a bit.
4) Za’Darius Smith Breaking Packers Hearts: He has been an incredible signing. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah did a great job of structuring the deal so that the team could afford him in 2022. So far, he has one of the league’s best pass rushers, so the team must be thrilled with the decision to bring the former Packer aboard.
5) Vikings Players Reactions to Win Over ARI: Like many others, I mostly thought of Patrick Peterson getting the win over his former team. Coming into the year, I thought Peterson would be a solid CB2, but he has been a strong CB1.
