Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we occasionally promote what they have to offer. Take a look at five of their articles from the early part of the week.

1) Cris Carter Nominates Justin Jefferson as Best Vikings WR – Ever: If this was coming from someone else, we’d probably all dismiss it. After all, Jefferson hasn’t even completed his third season with the Vikings. However, the fact that Carter is an all-time Vikings great adds plenty of credibility to the opinion. I’m not sure I agree, but it’s worth considering what Carter is saying.

2) Kevin O’Connell Resembled Dan Campbell in Loss: Initially, I didn’t think Campbell would succeed as Detroit’s head coach. The rumblings about his request for a real lion to make an appearance at practice seemingly confirmed my doubts. Nevertheless, it’s time to give credit where it’s due: he has his team playing well.

3) Vikings Have Mighty Drought with Next Opponent: Generally speaking, I don’t put too much stock into this sort of thing. Football is a weekly sport; whoever is better in a particular week usually wins the game, so concerns about past wins/losses mean very little. However, it is notable how long it has been since taking down the Colts.

4) “Failing by Design:” Criticism of Vikings Defense Reaches a National Level: Mina Kimes raises some really great points. Ed Donatell’s defense can’t completely change the scheme, but there does need to be a major adjustment. Their ability to compete in the playoffs depends on significant improvement on defense.

5) Vikings Super Bowl Odds Totally Plunge: Right now, the Super Bowl feels a long way away. If defense wins championships, then the Vikings are facing a monumental challenge. Perhaps Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson will continue their elite play, propelling this team higher than many people expect.
