Former Vikings Pass Rusher Heading to Indianapolis
Ifeadi Odenigbo was chosen by the Vikings in the seventh round of the 2017 draft. It took some time, but he eventually found some opportunity to contribute for Minnesota.
We learned today that he has agreed to a deal with the Colts. Tom Pelissero provides the initial news:
The deal, in all likelihood, is toward the veteran minimum and without many guarantees. Over the Cap indicates that he has been with the Vikings, Cardinals, Giants, and Browns. In that time, his cap hit has never exceeded $820,000.
Ifeadi Odenigbo will thus serve as veteran depth for the Colts defense. Yannick Ngakoue – another former Viking – sits atop their depth chart alongside Kwity Paye. It’s plausible that Odenigbo could serve as a rotational pass rusher, someone who can give the starters a breather. In 2019, he accumulated 7 sacks for Minnesota. He also had 7 TFLs and 13 QB hits. The next year, he put together 3.5 sacks and 15 QB hits.
Hopefully, he can make the team and provide strong snaps for the Colts.
