Another Saints Pro Bowler Out Vs. Vikings
Well, it turns out that this time around, Alvin Kamara won’t rush for six touchdowns against the Vikings. Dennis Allen confirmed on Sunday prior to the game that the five-time Pro Bowler won’t play against Minnesota due to a rib injury.
This is the second game of 2022 that Kamara won’t play in. He also missed Week 2’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Saints lost that game 20-10. So far into the season, it has been a rough go for the Saints RB, and his performances have not been nearly as efficient as years past. He has 24 carries for 100 yards and five receptions for 19 yards.
On Christmas Day of 2020, all Vikings fans will remember how badly Kamara shredded Minnesota’s defense for 22 carries, 155 yards, and 6 TDs. The touchdowns tied the NFL single-game rushing TD record, and it was the only game of the season in which Kamara eclipsed the 100-yard rushing barrier.
He also tacked on three catches for 17 yards, giving him 172 yards from scrimmage on the day. That performance will not be repeated on Sunday, and with Tony Jones Jr. also inactive, it looks as if Mark Ingram will get a heavy load of the carries for this game.

The Saints have a litany of injuries going into this game, including starting QB Jameis Winston and All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas. This latest injury puts even more pressure on QB Andy Dalton as he tries to navigate the Saints offense against a talented Vikings defense.
As for Minnesota, it appears that Andrew Booth Jr. will miss his third consecutive game, but Za’Darius Smith was not on the list of inactives for Sundy’s game, meaning he will suit up for Minnesota against a beat-up New Orleans that is missing left guard Andrus Peat.
The game is set to kick off at 8:30 AM Central on NFL Network.
