Q: Is Odell Beckham joining the Vikings a real possibility or just a bunch of offseason smoke?

A: It’s not a “strong possibility,” but it cannot be ruled out.

If Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman were still around, the chances of Beckham joining the Vikings would be next to zero. But with Beckham’s old offensive coordinator leading the Vikings, signing Beckham has some legs.

He will probably return to the Rams when it’s all said and done, but the Vikings should be considered a logical landing spot because of Kevin O’Connell. And remember, he likely won’t be ready to play until October or November.

Q: What are your guys’ thoughts on Week 2 Monday night at the Eagles?

A: Bring ’em on.

The Vikings have won two straight Monday night games and three out of the last four primetime games with Kirk Cousins at the helm.

Philadelphia isn’t scary — but they’re also not terrible. No matter who the Vikings play in Week 1, at the Eagles is a nice test to see how good the 2022 Vikings can be.

Q: Does the Philadelphia news all but confirm a Week 1 home game for the Vikings?

A: Yes. Yes, it does.

It would be bizarre for the Vikings to go ROAD, ROAD, home, LONDON (road), BYE WEEK to start the 2022 regular season.

Ergo, Minnesota will probably begin the season at home, perhaps against the New York Giants, as the rumor suggests.
