Sullivan is a starting CB, mainly used as a slot cornerback for Green Bay. Spending three seasons with the Packers, Sullivan played in 49 games and started on 20 occasions.
The move is noteworthy because the Vikings now need one or two more starting corners. Before Friday, Cameron Dantzler was the only viable CB1 or CB2 on the depth chart. Signing Sullivan points the team in the right direction of [hopefully] constructing a deep defense.
As a player comp — at least in terms of role — Sullivan should be considered “this year’s Mackensie Alexander” signing, perhaps nailing down the slot job for 2022.
Smith is 25 years old.
