Q: Are you glad Robert Quinn left the Chicago Bears to play for the Philadelphia Eagles? Is it better to have Quinn out of the division?

A: Well, for starters, Quinn hasn’t been a gamebreaker in 2022. His 43.8 grade from Pro Football Focus is a little blah. Imagine if Danielle Hunter had that score through seven weeks.

Overall, though, sure — it’s better for the Bears to be weakened long-term for the Vikings sake. Of course, if the Vikings make noise in the postseason, they’ll see Quinn again as a member of the Eagles.

Quinn is 32, so let’s see how long he plays at a high level. He has one sack in 2022.

Q: Any chance Alexander Mattison is traded at the deadline?

A: We don’t think so.

It’s nearly a lock that Dalvin Cook will be injured for a few games between now and January. If that happened tomorrow, would you trust Kene Nwangwu with the RB workload? Maybe, maybe not.

Mattison is a fine RB2 who should play out his contract with the Vikings. Minnesota would only receive a late-round pick for him, so he’s more valuable as an RB1 on a 5-1 team that will inevitably be without Cook at some point.

Q: Do you think Oli Udoh will be released after his arrest over the weekend?

A: Our speculative opinion here is that charges will be dropped.

Udoh’s lawyer was rather convincing on Wednesday, and his side of the story actually sounds believable.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a travesty football-wise if Udoh was cut, but we predict that he won’t be going anywhere. Read the statement from his attorney.
