Justin Jefferson Sets a New Vikings Receiving Record in the First Half

Well, the first half of Kevin O’Connell’s head coaching tenure went about as well as anyone could have hoped for. The Minnesota Vikings went into halftime with a 17-0 lead over the Green Bay Packers, and while the defense has been impressive, including a goal line stand, it’s the offense that has everyone chattering. In the first half of the 2022 regular season, Justin Jefferson set a new team record for receiving yards in a first half, with 158.
Jefferson produced these yards on six catches. He also tacked on two touchdowns, and he was a toe-drag away from adding a third. Two of his catches went for over 35 yards, and we head into the second half with the franchise record for most receiving yards in a game, Sammy White’s mark of 214 set in 1976, on watch.
