Q: Are the Chiefs and Buccaneers really going to play at the Vikings stadium if Hurricane Ian affects Florida?
A: Yes, that option is on the table.
The Vikings will be in London taking on the Saints, leaving U.S. Bank Stadium vacant as a contingency plan. And it would serve as a somewhat neutral site for both teams.
The game is also in primetime Sunday night, so both teams have extra time to plan accordingly. If the game is moved, Minneapolis is the best bet. It is unclear how ticketing for the event would shake out.
Q: Would you start Alexander Mattison this week on a fantasy team?
A: That one is tricky without knowing your team. But he will get more touches than usual.
In the immediacy of Cook’s injury, the Vikings said it wasn’t serious. Cook played through pain in 2021, too. While we expect Cook to participate in Week 4, this may be when Minnesota transitions to a committee-type situation — which is what the Los Angeles Rams used in 2021, the former place of Kevin O’Connell’s employment.
If you’ve got nasty RBs on your fantasy team, start Mattison. Otherwise, he probably won’t be a total bellcow in Week 4.
Q: Do you believe Jonathan Bullard will remain a starter on defense for the rest of the way?
A: Indefinitely, yes.
Bullard has a 58.6 grade from Pro Football Focus, a reasonable score as he acclimates to Ed Donatell’s defense. He isn’t playing lights out, but he isn’t awful, either.
We’re still puzzled by Armon Watt’s release. And Ndamukong Suh is evidently too expensive.
Bullard will be “the guy” going forward unless the team wants to give Ross Blacklock a look.
