We’ve made it to the final weekend of 2022 without NFL regular season football. With that, it seems like the best time to come out with some NFL standings predictions for the 2022 season. Yesterday, we went over the AFC East, and today, we discuss the NFC East.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)
The Philadelphia Eagles are building a scary defense heading into the 2022 season. They added DT Jordan Davis through the draft, signed CB James Bradberry, and traded for C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Jalen Hurts has had his struggles as a pure passer, but Philly also paired their emerging star WR Devonta Smith with A.J. Brown this offseason. This team looks dangerous heading into the regular season.
2. Dallas Cowboys (8-9)
Dallas won the NFC East last season through the strength of their offense which ranked first in points and yards. The hope is that CeeDee Lamb continues to develop and can replace the production left behind by Amari Cooper. They are also trying to rebuild the offensive line with their first-round selection of Tyler Smith.
That said, Dallas’ run defense doesn’t look much better than last year’s, and they have matchups with some of the best RBs in the NFL this year. If they allow these teams to control the line of scrimmage, it could be a frustrating season.
3. Washington Commanders (7-10)
For the Washington Commanders, success in 2022 comes down to how healthy their defense can stay. Carson Wentz is going to play well enough to win some games, but he’s also going to play poorly enough to lose a few. The defense is going to be key to make sure that they can win enough games to stay competitive in the NFC East, but if it can’t, we may see Sam Howell at some point.
4. New York Giants (6-11)
The New York Giants are building a bright future with their two top-10 selections from the 2022 draft. That said, this Giants team cannot be given the benefit of the doubt with the inconsistencies of Daniel Jones at QB as well as the health question marks surrounding Saquon Barkley. They will finsih in the cellar of the NFC East this year.
