The Bears Are Dealing With Their Own Covid Crisis

Some unfortunate news coming out of Chicago. The Bears are dealing with their own Covid crisis. They’ve needed to place several players on the Covid list:

It gets worse, though. They have several coaches – all three coordinators – to partner with what is already an incredibly long list of players on the Covid-19 and/or injury list:

Frankly, this puts Chicago at a brutal disadvantage on Monday night. I know Vikings fans want to win, but this is ridiculous. For whatever it’s worth, the Vikings are dealing with their own Covid situation. The NFL won’t consider it, but one wonders what needs to happen in order to postpone a game. It’s worth remembering that everyone’s short and long-term health are far more important than football.

The current Covid crisis for the Bears underscores just how challenging the rest of the season will be. Teams will need to ensure they’re doing their utmost to limit spread. Barring complete disaster, the NFL won’t be postponing games or shuffling the schedule in any meaningful way. Teams will therefore need to navigate the surge in Covid cases that is currently occurring.

The MNF game between the Bears and Vikings is scheduled for Monday, December 20th. It will begin at 7:15 CT.
