The Vikings still have a 90% chance to make post-season if they do these 3 things

Win. Win. And… Win.

Following a gut punch of a loss against a very beatable Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad, things are pretty bleak in Minnesota Vikingsland. That bleakness may be warranted but the reality is that had kicker Dan Bailey done his job? These Vikings could be above .500 for the first time all season and looking at a three game stretch in which two wins would mean an almost certain appearance in the playoffs.

Instead, the Vikings are left feeling like they could’ve/should’ve won against the Bucs and a three game stretch in which they need to be perfect to have a shot at the post-season. However, the reality is that the Vikings still have a good chance to make the playoffs if they win three games. Actually, a 90% chance. Which may sound crazy to those of you on any Sports Betting Apps in Illinois or Iowa, but it’s as true as I am banned from those Apps (and states).

This is all according to the nifty New York Times playoff scenario thingamaig:

As you can see, the Vikings’ odds are pretty darn good if they manage to beat both the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, and upset the New Orleans Saints at home on Christmas.

Luckily for the Vikings, they’ve already beat both NFC North teams. Beyond that, they’ll be facing the Bears at US Bank Stadium which is a godsend considering the teams recent record at Soldier Field. While the Lions and Saints games are on the road, the Vikings have bested the Saints multiple times over the past couple seasons and are a team that Zimmer understands.

The bad news is much more plentiful though, as the Vikings have zero margin for error here and are a team that makes a seemingly endless amount of errors from week-to-week. With the Bears seemingly going back to Mitchell Trubisky, a much more mobile QB than Nick Foles, Drew Brees most likely returning to the Saints and the Lions having a new “fun” (interim) head coach in Darrel Bevell… Perhaps those bleak feelings are right after all.

But it’s fun to dream, isn’t it?
